A free book for the architect who is already good, already working hard, and still not known for anything in particular.
Useful Everywhere, Recognised Nowhere The Architect Decoder Method for Becoming the Expert You Already Are
You do not have a hard work problem. You have a lane problem.
I don't know what direction I should take. I feel like I'm doing a bit of everything. I'm working hard, but I'm not moving forward.
I don't know what I want to be known for.
I have heard some version of those four sentences from more architects than I could ever count. In webinars, in private messages, in ninety minute conversations where someone finally says out loud what they have been carrying alone for years.
If one of those sentences is currently living somewhere in your own head, this book was written for you.
You are good. You are ambitious. You do excellent work. You watch people with less talent get chosen ahead of you, promoted ahead of you, trusted ahead of you, and you cannot explain why, because the explanation everyone offers, work harder, be patient, wait your turn, insults you a little every time you hear it.
So here is the sentence nobody has said to you plainly yet.
You are useful everywhere, and recognised nowhere.
That is not a criticism. It is a diagnosis, and diagnoses, unlike criticisms, come with a way out.

The book has five parts and eighteen chapters, and it does four things in order.
It names the trap you are standing in, plainly, without softening it. Then it takes you through my own story, the empty house in Poland, my sister, the language wall in Australia, the two ceilings I refused. Then it gives you the method itself, finding your lane, translating your invisible judgement into language other people can act on, and dealing honestly with the flattering lies that keep capable people waiting. And at the end, your turn, a six question scan you can run on yourself tonight.
You will find, somewhere in the middle of it, the sentence my sister said to me at seventeen that changed the direction of my whole life. It took her four seconds. Nobody had ever said it to me before.
Someone decoded me once, in a single sentence. This book is my attempt to do that for you, on paper, without waiting for us to meet.
I am Jolanta Debek-Kozyra, Architect Decoder™ and founder of Architect2Entrepreneur™.
I completed my architecture degree in Australia while the language wall was still standing, built a career here from an identity I had to rebuild from nothing, was told once that I wasn't ready for a role I was already doing, left without another job secured, and was earning almost double within a few weeks.
I am not writing to you from a distance. I am writing from the other side of the exact thing you are living through, close enough to still remember precisely what it costs.
